Tell Me No Lies

oh Sweet Liar,
What have you done to me!
You promised me your love,
Only to toss it away like debris.
Your treacherous lips belied words
To invoke my heart,
And tragedy eroded this false love apart.
The whispered words of love's content,
A lie so shallow I believed in you then.
Your faults so long, was too much to bear,
For I couldn't love as much as I dared.
This time no lies shall stop me still,
I walk with dignity for I have had my fill.
The pain surpassed in time.
Now I'm on guard
like red roses
With thorns embracing about.
