Hot Chocolate Dreams

When I gaze upon your face
I see into the windows of your soul
In your eyes a silver twinkle,
And your lips stretched in half a smile.
You say words like “I care.’
Then gaze at me in that special way
When you embrace my hand in yours
Insistently saying I’ll love you more than you’ll ever know.
I close my eyes and think of him
In candy coated feelings and hot chocolate dreams
Like the way he’d walk beside me
Under a bejeweled summer night sky
And meet me at sunrise with a glance and a sigh.
And when all said and done,
The years have come and gone.
The silver twinkle never dims, never dwindles.
When mine eyes they flickered wide open
A sight so beautiful that leaves me breathless
Eyes looking back gleefully,
With a Love so complete for me.
